This website was originally created by George Myers to share his experiences and interests with the world. It has been lovingly preserved and continues to exist through the efforts of his step-son, Lyn Borchert (Josephine's youngest). George went to be with his Father in August of 2014 after a long battle with several ailments. He is greatly missed by us all. Other than this note and the format of the site, all text is as George originally typed it.

This site should be easy to navigate — use the menu on the left to explore any section. The website was last updated by George on 3/19/2006, and is being updated with new photos and text over time.

Some of the photos are of family members, starting with George's great-grandfather and great-grandmother. That photograph below was taken in a photo studio in Indian Territory, most likely in the 1890s.

I worked for the Southern Pacific Railroad for many years. Click on Southern Pacific Railroad in the menu to find out something about that part of my life.

Josephine and George were married on October 15, 1998, at the Hacienda del Sol Resort in Tucson, Arizona. You can read more about the wedding using the Wedding link in the menu.

Click on Iowa Trip, June 1999 to see what we did and some of the friends and relatives we saw on our trip to Iowa in the spring of 1999. Josephine also kept a journal during that trip — you can read Josephine's Iowa Journal in the menu as well.

Some of my family asked if I would include a picture of the ship I served on during the Korean War. Click on Ship or S.S. Marine Jumper in the menu to see photographs and other information. Because the military had strict rules prohibiting personnel from taking pictures during wartime, I do not have any photos from that era — but if you click through, you will see a real hero, and it isn't me.

When Josephine and I travel to California we go in our motor home, staying at the Mission Farm R.V. Park. Please visit the Mission Farm R.V. Park page in the menu.
